Statue of Basavanna

Gadag-Betageri is a city in Gadag district in Karnataka at India. The Gadag district has Bagalkot district at its North, Haveri district at its south, Koppal district at its East, Dharwad district at its west. The Gadag city and Betageri city both have combined administration. Gadag is known for its religious heritages Veeranarayana temple of Vaishnava tradition and Trikuteshwara temple of shaiva tradition. As soon as we enter the city can witness Basaveshwara Statue next to Bhishma lake.



Basaveshwara Statue next to Bhishma lake is 117.6 feet high. The  statue is surrounded by park and you need to pay entrance fees to enter the park. At the bottom of the statue there is small museum which portray the life of Basavanna. The museum contains these following:
